The Column of the Archangel Saint Raphael is an emblematic monument located on the seafront promenade. This statue, which rises majestically on a column, represents the Archangel Saint Raphael, protector of the city. It was erected in 2006 as a symbol of thanks to the archangel for his protection. The statue and its column are made of bronze and marble respectively, and its design is the work of local sculptor José Luis Martín García. The Columna del Arcángel San Rafael is a landmark and meeting place for locals and visitors, and is especially popular during religious festivities.
